Lucretia is a reproduction of an early Connecticut sampler. She was born in Torringford (now Torrington) Conneticut, the town her grandfather had carved out of the forest and a bit of her family information is included in the chart.
Lucretia worked her sampler at the age of 13 on homespun linen with cross stitch, cross stitch over one, satin stitch, Algerian eyelet stitch, marking stitch, and Queen stitch worked horizontally. Full stitch diagrams are included for all specialty stitches.

The model was stitched on Confederate Gray linen from Weeks Dye Works.
